OurFoodFix is an independent publisher of newcomer, lifestyle, and personal-finance content for Canadian residents — particularly newcomers settling in Metro Vancouver and across Canada. We write recommendations based on research, product testing, and the lived experience of our editorial team. No financial partner has editorial control over what we publish, which products we recommend, or how we rank them.

How We Make Money

Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one of these links and sign up for a product or service (for example a bank account, credit card, investment platform, phone plan, or meal-delivery service), we may earn a referral commission from the provider — at no additional cost to you.

Commissions help us pay our writers, cover hosting costs, and keep the site free for readers. We only partner with companies that:

How We Rank Products

Commission rates do not determine our rankings. Our ranking methodology weighs:

  1. Suitability for our target reader (Canadian newcomers, middle-income professionals, Vancouver residents).
  2. Fees, pricing, and total cost of ownership in CAD.
  3. Eligibility requirements (credit history, residency, SIN).
  4. Consumer protections (CDIC, CIPF, IIROC, provincial regulation).

Where a product we genuinely recommend does not have an affiliate program, we still include it in our rankings. We will never exclude a better product solely because it does not pay a commission.
